System off the Carolinas Coast Could Potentially Develop into Tropical Cyclone, NHC Reports
A weather system off the coast of the Carolinas is anticipated to bring heavy rain and coastal flooding as it develops into a potential tropical cyclone, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center (NHC) on Sunday.
The NHC indicated there is a 70% likelihood that this weather system could evolve into a cyclone within the next 48 hours. In their latest advisory, they mentioned that some strengthening could occur before the system makes landfall, with its center expected to reach the coast within the warning area on Monday.
Earlier assessments by the NHC suggested that the system may become a subtropical or tropical storm in the following day.
