Eco-Evolving Avatars on Polkadot at Token 2049 in Singapore by Chainwire
Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 18th, 2024
Token 2049 attendees are invited to engage with DOTphin, a groundbreaking NFT initiative aimed at enhancing real-world environmental sustainability. This innovative project is the result of a collaboration between the Sovereign Nature Initiative (SNI), Unique Network, and WalletConnect, designed specifically for participants at the Token 2049 event in Singapore.
Attendees can visit the Polkadot booth (Booth #P34 and 42) at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center to collect their Proof of Presence (PoP) and begin their journey with DOTphin avatars. These avatars evolve through user interactions while simultaneously contributing to marine conservation efforts.
By engaging with the DOTphin experience, attendees will gather PoPs that unlock different evolutionary stages of their avatars, guided by ecological data provided by SNI’s marine conservation partner, Aquasearch. This pioneering blend of blockchain technology and ecological responsibility empowers participants to make a meaningful contribution to marine life preservation.
Catherine Bischoff, CEO of SNI, stated, "Our mission at the Sovereign Nature Initiative is to rethink the economics of biodiversity conservation and restoration. With DOTphin, we have forged an innovative approach that links community engagement with environmental protection through digital collectibles. We aim to create significance in virtual spaces by offering dynamic assets that can be tracked for real-world impact."
To claim PoPs and other Proofs, users can simply scan QR codes at the event, which will direct them to a streamlined claim process. Attendees can create an account using their email, social media profiles, or digital wallets to facilitate this process.
Once PoPs are secured, users can proceed to evolve their DOTphin avatars on the REAL Evolution page of the REAL portal. Accessing this page requires the same login credentials created during the PoP claiming process. The evolution begins with the "orbo," the avatar’s basic form, which sets the stage for further development once it hatches.
As participants continue to collect PoPs and other Proofs, they can select from these assets to influence their DOTphin’s evolution, resulting in a uniquely personalized avatar representing their individual engagement and accomplishments.
Visually, the DOTphin avatars draw inspiration from the artistic style of Japanese anime, enhancing the relatable connection between the audience and their digital companions. The artwork is crafted by the acclaimed designer Daria Smakhtina of Ephemera One.
