Energy Web Launches AutoGreenCharge Beta App to Decarbonize EV Charging, Secured by Polkadot

Energy Web has announced the beta launch of AutoGreenCharge, a mobile application aimed at decarbonizing electric vehicle (EV) charging. This innovative app enables users to ensure that their charging sessions are powered exclusively by renewable energy. It is compatible with a variety of popular electric vehicle brands, such as Tesla, BMW, and Mercedes, allowing a broad audience to embrace greener charging solutions.

AutoGreenCharge leverages Energy Web’s decentralized technology, powered by EnergywebX and secured on the blockchain, to provide a simple and verifiable method for ensuring that EV charging is not only electric but also 100% renewable. The app integrates renewable energy certificates (RECs), which allow it to automatically match charging sessions with clean energy in real time, offering users verifiable green charging. During the beta phase, users can explore the essential features of the app and engage with the future of EV charging.

With a partnership with Smart Car, AutoGreenCharge enables EV owners to conveniently connect their vehicles. Once connected, the app automatically tracks each charging session, delivering insights into energy consumption and environmental impact. As the app progresses toward full production, users will have the capability to retire real renewable energy certificates with every charging session, thereby ensuring their vehicles are powered by sustainable energy sources. Users will also be able to customize their preferences regarding the type and location of renewable energy, accessing various clean energy options, including solar and wind.
