Ethereum DeFi Protocol Hope Lend Drained After Exploit
A decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol known as Hope Lend has suffered a significant blow, leaving it with almost no assets following a severe hacking incident.
Reports from various blockchain security firms indicate that on October 18, two individuals were involved in the theft: a frontrunner who identified the exploit and acted before the original hacker and the hacker themselves. Together, they took a total of 526 Ether (ETH) from Hope Lend, valued at approximately $825,357 at the time. According to CertiK, the attacker successfully acquired 264 ETH and subsequently paid a 263 ETH bribe to an ETH validator.
