LONDON (Reuters) – The European Commission is set to impose additional duties on electric vehicles imported from China. In September, the Commission reduced the proposed final tariffs on Tesla and made slight adjustments for other manufacturers following input from the companies during its anti-subsidy investigation.
EU member states will vote on the proposal this Friday. The new tariffs will be added to the EU’s standard 10% import duty on cars.

The EU has established a specific duty rate for Tesla in response to a request from the American electric vehicle manufacturer. Initially classified as a cooperating entity subject to a 20.8% tariff, this rate was subsequently adjusted to 9% in August.
