
Netherlands Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; AEX Up 0.63%
Netherlands stocks closed higher on Friday, driven by gains in various sectors. The market recorded a 0.63% increase in Amsterdam.
Leading the day’s advance was Koninklijke Philips NV, which appreciated by 4.43% or 1.25 points, closing at 29.46. Akzo Nobel NV followed with a 3.84% rise, adding 2.38 points to finish at 64.40, while Randstad NV increased by 3.46%, up 1.50 points to 44.90.
On the downside, Relx PLC was the weakest performer, declining 0.70% or 0.30 points to close at 42.80. Koninklijke KPN NV dropped 0.60% or 0.02 points to finish at 3.67, and ABN AMRO Group NV saw a decrease of 0.55% or 0.09 points, ending at 16.37.
Overall, the Amsterdam Stock Exchange had 70 advancing stocks versus 32 declining ones, with 8 remaining unchanged.
Koninklijke Philips NV reached a 52-week high, reflecting the day’s strong performance. The volatility index measuring AEX options remained flat at 21.09.
In commodity markets, crude oil for November delivery rose by 0.93%, reaching $68.30 a barrel. Brent oil for December delivery increased by 0.70% to $71.59 a barrel, while December Gold Futures decreased by 0.91%, trading at $2,670.40 per troy ounce.
In currency exchanges, EUR/USD remained stable at 1.12, and EUR/GBP was virtually unchanged at 0.83. The US Dollar Index Futures saw a minor dip of 0.04%, settling at 100.20.
