Sui Builders to Operate on AWS Blockchain Node Runners, According to Chainwire

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, July 23rd, 2024, Chainwire

The Sui Foundation, which is focused on promoting and advancing the layer 1 blockchain Sui, has announced an exciting integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Blockchain Node Runners. This development allows developers to implement a self-managed node deployment solution on the Sui blockchain.

With this integration, builders on the Sui platform can effortlessly set up and deploy Sui full nodes within the AWS ecosystem. This arrangement takes advantage of AWS’s renowned cloud infrastructure, which offers high availability, scalability, and reliability. AWS Blockchain Node Runners streamlines the process of running blockchain nodes, enabling users to easily deploy, scale, manage, and monitor secure blockchain nodes. As of now, Navi, a prominent liquidity protocol, has begun using Node Runners to deploy full nodes on Sui.

Kathryn Van Nuys, the Global Head of Startups in Specialized Segments at AWS, remarked on the initiative: “AWS Blockchain Node Runners was designed to support builders at all stages of the application lifecycle, offering blueprints to meet specific requirements, from enhanced security and compliance to ease of deployment and monitoring. We are excited to bring these features to empower developers to deploy and manage Sui nodes on the AWS cloud.”

The Node Runners platform provides several important technical advantages for blockchain node deployment. It offers validated, best-practice templates for scalable operations across various geographic locations. High availability is achieved through multi-node deployment across different availability zones. Furthermore, the deployment code is completely open-source, allowing users to review it prior to deployment. By aligning with the AWS Well-Architected Framework, Node Runners aids organizations in constructing secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient node infrastructures. Full nodes on Sui validate on-chain activities like transactions, checkpoints, and epoch changes while also storing stakes and histories to facilitate client queries. This setup allows validators to concentrate on transaction processing and node updates, as query servicing is managed by full nodes.

Navi is among the first adopters of Node Runners on Sui and has successfully deployed its first node through AWS’s services.

To further support Sui builders, developers and startups that utilize AWS Blockchain Node Runners or develop on the Sui blockchain may qualify for up to $5,000 in Activate credits. Additionally, the Sui Foundation has joined the AWS Web3 Provider program, granting Sui developers access to various tools, resources, content, and credits.

Henrik Johansson, the Global Head of Community at the Sui Foundation, stated, “The integration of AWS Node Runners on Sui marks a pivotal advancement in enhancing blockchain infrastructure. Sui nodes are fundamental to the operation and accessibility of Sui. This collaboration with AWS not only equips developers with more tools for simplified node deployment but also provides financial support for those utilizing and developing on AWS.”
