Thai August Headline CPI Increases 0.35% Year-on-Year, Slightly Below Forecast, According to Reuters
BANGKOK (Reuters) – Thailand’s headline consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.35% in August compared to the same month last year, a decline from the 0.83% rise seen in July, according to the commerce ministry’s report on Thursday.
The latest figure fell short of the predicted 0.40% increase based on a Reuters poll and remains below the central bank’s target range of 1% to 3%.
Meanwhile, the core CPI, which excludes the more volatile food and energy prices, rose by 0.62% in August from the previous year.
