Former U.S. President George W. Bush Plans No Election Endorsement, Says Reuters

Former U.S. President George W. Bush, a member of the Republican Party, has decided not to endorse any candidate or disclose how he and his wife, Laura, will vote in the upcoming presidential election. A spokesman for Bush, who requested to remain anonymous, stated, “He retired from presidential politics many years ago.”

This announcement follows a day after Bush’s former vice president, Dick Cheney, revealed that he would be voting for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris instead of Republican former President Donald Trump. Cheney, who served in the vice president role from 2001 to 2009, commented that throughout the history of the nation, there has never been anyone he considers a greater threat to the republic than Trump.

Harris acknowledged the endorsements from both Cheney and his daughter Liz, a former U.S. Representative, describing them as “courageous” for prioritizing the country over party loyalty. Meanwhile, Mike Pence, who was Trump’s vice president for four years, has stated that he will not endorse his former boss, but has also not expressed support for Harris.
