India Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; Nifty 50 Increases by 0.57%

India’s stock market experienced gains on Monday, driven by positive performance in various sectors.

At the end of trading on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the index climbed 0.57%, reaching a new all-time high, while the overall index rose by 0.45%.

Leading the session were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., which saw an increase of 3.35% or 98.95 points, closing at 3,049.80. Bajaj Auto Ltd. followed closely, rising 3.33% or 397.25 points to finish at 12,338.95. Additionally, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. jumped by 3.21% or 9.20 points, closing at 295.45.

On the downside, Eicher Motors Ltd. posted a decline of 1.68% or 83.60 points, ending at 4,879.55. Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. fell by 1.43% or 77.90 points to close at 5,372.85, while ICICI Bank Ltd. saw a decrease of 1.24% or 16.55 points, finishing at 1,321.90.

Among the top gainers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., which rose 3.18% to 3,046.20, State Bank of India with a rise of 2.35% to 800.30, and Bharti Airtel Ltd., gaining 2.26% to reach 1,751.00.

Conversely, ICICI Bank Ltd. experienced a dip of 1.27% to 1,323.20, while IndusInd Bank Ltd. lost 1.05% to settle at 1,463.70, and Asian Paints Ltd. fell by 1.02% to close at 3,275.40.

The market showed a favorable trend, with rising stocks outnumbering those in decline on the NSE, recording 1,550 gainers against 988 losers, while 67 stocks remained unchanged. On the BSE, 2,240 shares rose, 1,687 fell, and 119 stocks ended flat.

Notable all-time highs were reached for Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd., and Bharti Airtel Ltd., marking significant milestones in their stock performances.

Furthermore, the index measuring the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options rose by 7.86% to 13.80.

In commodities trading, December gold futures increased slightly by 0.02% to $2,646.80 per troy ounce. Crude oil for November delivery climbed 0.35% to $71.25 per barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.30% to $73.91 per barrel.

In currency trading, the USD/INR pair inched up by 0.09% to 83.55, while EUR/INR fell 0.36% to 92.86. The US Dollar Index Futures recorded a rise of 0.27% to 100.70.
