
France Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; CAC 40 Up 1.28%
France’s stock market closed higher on Tuesday, driven by gains in various sectors. In Paris, the main index increased by 1.28%, while another key index rose by 0.09%.
The standout performers of the day included ArcelorMittal SA, which saw an increase of 4.76%, adding 1.02 points to finish at 22.46. L’Oreal SA followed closely with a 4.21% increase, or 15.50 points, ending the session at 383.30. Additionally, Hermes International SCA experienced a rise of 3.85%, or 74.50 points, closing at 2,009.00.
On the downside, Publicis Groupe SA declined by 1.88%, or 1.89 points, closing at 98.56. Dassault Systemes SE also fell by 1.83%, losing 0.66 points to end at 35.43, while Orange SA was down 0.69%, or 0.08 points, finishing the day at 10.79.
Among the top performers in the SBF 120, Worldline SA recorded a 5.66% gain, reaching 6.23. ArcelorMittal SA features again, up by 4.76% as previously mentioned, and Aperam SA gained 4.67%, closing at 26.00.
The laggards included Viridien SA, which dropped 5.31% to 35.78, Fnac Darty SA, down 4.97% to 27.70, and Nexans SA, which fell by 2.15% to 127.70.
Overall, advancing stocks outnumbered those in decline on the Paris Stock Exchange, with 242 rising against 224 falling, and 110 remaining unchanged.
In commodities, December gold futures rose by 0.74% to $2,672.15 per troy ounce. Crude oil for November delivery increased by 1.69% to $71.56 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract also climbed 1.69% to $74.45.
On the foreign exchange front, the EUR/USD rate remained steady at 1.12, while EUR/GBP was also unchanged at 0.83. The US Dollar Index Futures dipped by 0.27%, settling at 100.29.
