Kazakh President’s Office Confirms No Expectation of Snap Election, Reports Reuters

ALMATY (Reuters) – The office of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev announced on Tuesday that reports regarding his plans for a snap election were unfounded. This clarification came after he sought an explanation regarding a specific clause in the constitution that pertains to the duration of his term.

Nazarbayev’s office indicated that certain sections of the constitution require legal clarification, including those related to the replacement of a president or matters concerning resignation.
