Fuel Shortages Persist in London and South East England, Reports Reuters
LONDON – Gasoline and diesel shortages continue to affect London and the southeast of England, with the Petrol Retailers Association (PRA) reporting that 22% of forecourts were out of fuel and 60% had both types available.
In other parts of Britain, such as Scotland and regions in northern and central England, the situation has largely improved, with only 6% of forecourts reported as dry.
Brian Madderson, chairman of the PRA, stated that fuel is still not reaching the pumps that need it most in London and the southeast.
Starting Monday, the British military will deploy tanker drivers to deliver fuel to gas stations. This move aims to stabilize supply following a tumultuous week characterized by panic-buying, disputes at fuel stations, and reports of drivers hoarding gasoline in inappropriate containers.
