Greece Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; Athens General Composite Up 0.80%

Greece’s stock market experienced gains following Tuesday’s closing bell, primarily driven by advancements in various sectors.

At the end of trading in Athens, the index increased by 0.80%, reaching a new one-month high.

The standout performers of the day included Crete Plastics SA, which rose by 4.83%, or 0.70 points, closing at 15.20. Quality and Reliability SA saw an increase of 4.73% or 0.06 points, finishing at 1.24. Additionally, Iktinos Hellas climbed 2.99%, or 0.01 points, to close at 0.38.

Conversely, the session’s worst performers were Profile Syst, which dropped 1.66% or 0.09 points, closing at 5.33. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions fell by 1.45% or 0.14 points, ending at 9.53. Quest Holdings also declined by 1.13%, or 0.06 points, to close at 5.25.

On the Athens Stock Exchange, advancing stocks outnumbered those that declined, with 74 gaining ground compared to 46 losses, while 18 remained unchanged.

In other market movements, December gold futures rose by 0.61%, or 16.25, to settle at $2,668.75 per troy ounce. Crude oil for November delivery increased by 1.49%, or 1.05, closing at $71.42 per barrel. Meanwhile, December Brent oil contracts went up by 1.42%, or 1.04, trading at $74.25 per barrel.

In currency trading, the EUR/USD pair remained steady at 1.12, while EUR/GBP showed minor movement at 0.83. The US Dollar Index Futures decreased by 0.25%, settling at 100.31.
