
Spain Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; IBEX 35 Up 0.12%
Spain’s stock market showed positive momentum on Friday, with gains in various sectors driving shares higher.
At the end of the trading day in Madrid, the market index increased by 0.12%, reaching a new five-year peak.
Among the top performers were Grifols SA, which saw a rise of 3.09% or 0.30 points, closing at 10.15. Corporacion Acciona Energias Renovables SA followed with a 2.60% increase, up 0.54 points to finish at 21.34. Fluidra also reported gains, rising 2.07% or 0.48 points to close at 23.62.
Conversely, Banco de Sabadell SA had the worst performance of the day, dropping 4.80% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.91. Unicaja Banco SA also declined by 4.00%, losing 0.05 points to end at 1.15, while Caixabank SA decreased by 3.92% or 0.22 points, finishing at 5.44.
The number of rising stocks outpaced declining ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange, with 111 advancing, 73 declining, and 29 remaining unchanged.
In commodity markets, gold futures for December delivery decreased by 0.86% or 23.10, settling at $2,671.80 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, crude oil for November delivery rose by 0.99% or 0.67, reaching $68.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract gained 0.77% or 0.55, trading at $71.64 per barrel.
In currency exchange, the EUR/USD remained steady, slightly dipping 0.18% to 1.12, and the EUR/GBP was virtually unchanged at 0.83.
The US Dollar Index futures registered a slight decline of 0.02%, settling at 100.22.
