India Government Seeks Parliament’s Approval for $15.4 Billion in Additional Spending, According to Reuters
The Indian government requested parliamentary approval on Monday for an additional expenditure of 1.03 trillion rupees (approximately $15.43 billion) for the fiscal year concluding in March 2017.
In a supplementary demand for grants presented to parliament by the finance ministry, it was noted that the net cash outflow would amount to 209.48 billion rupees.
The proposed additional spending encompasses 50 billion rupees allocated to a rural jobs initiative, around 42 billion rupees for road construction projects, and 20 billion rupees dedicated to disaster management efforts.
