Interview with Putin? Tucker Carlson Responds with a Smile: ‘We’ll See’ – Reuters

Tucker Carlson Sparks Speculation During Moscow Visit

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s recent trip to Moscow has ignited speculation that he could become the first Western journalist to interview Russian President Vladimir Putin amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. However, Carlson remained evasive about his plans during his visit.

Russian media captured Carlson at various locations in Moscow, including a box at the Bolshoi Theatre and dining at a local hotel. In an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, he expressed his admiration for the city, stating, "It is beautiful. I just wanted to see it because, you know, I have read so much about it but I have never seen it before."

When questioned about a potential interview with Putin, Carlson responded noncommittally, saying, "We’ll see," accompanied by a smile.

The Kremlin, when asked about Carlson’s visit and the possibility of an interview with the president, declined to provide any comments, noting that it does not track the movements of foreign journalists or provide updates on their activities.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated, "Many foreign journalists come to Russia every day, many continue to work here, and we welcome this. We have nothing to announce regarding the president’s interviews with foreign media."

In December, Carlson launched a new subscription-based streaming video service aimed at tapping into his popularity among conservative audiences in the U.S. Notably, an interview he conducted with former president Donald Trump last August garnered over 267 million views on social media.
