Michigan Supreme Court Rules RFK Jr. to Remain on State’s Presidential Ballot, According to Reuters
The Michigan Supreme Court has announced that Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name will remain on the ballot for the presidential election taking place on November 5, despite his request for removal. This decision could be significant for Republican Donald Trump.
Kennedy, who exited the presidential race as an independent candidate last month, endorsed Trump, the Republican nominee and former president, currently running against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
Kennedy has aimed to have his name taken off the ballots in key swing states like Michigan and Arizona to prevent drawing votes away from Trump. His presence in Michigan may complicate Trump’s campaign, as Kennedy supporters might choose to back him instead of the former president, which is not the outcome Kennedy desires.
The state Supreme Court’s ruling overturned a previous decision by the Court of Appeals that had permitted Kennedy to withdraw his name from the ballot.
