Iran’s Pezeshkian States Tehran’s Willingness to Collaborate with Global Powers to Resolve Nuclear Standoff
Iran is prepared to resolve its nuclear standoff with Western nations, according to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who addressed the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. He also advocated for dialogue to bring an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine.
Pezeshkian criticized Israel, labeling its actions in Gaza as “genocide,” and called for an immediate halt to such operations.
Iranian leadership is hopeful for a reduction in U.S. sanctions related to its nuclear program. However, tensions with the West have escalated since the Iranian-backed Hamas militant group launched an attack on southern Israel on October 7, coupled with Iran’s increasing support for Russia’s military actions in Ukraine.
“We strive for peace and have no intention of conflict with any nation… Iran condemns war and stresses the necessity for an immediate end to military activities in Ukraine,” stated Pezeshkian.
