Israeli Troops Kill Palestinian in West Bank, Allegedly for Throwing a Bomb, According to Reuters
Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian and injured another in the occupied West Bank on Monday, according to medical officials. The Israeli army reported that the two individuals were engaged in a bomb attack during the incident.
No Israeli military personnel sustained injuries in this event, which occurred near the Palestinian city of Jenin. A hospital in Jenin confirmed that a 19-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries, while the other individual, who was shot in the lower back, is currently in stable condition.
In a military statement, it was indicated that the troops opened fire on “two assailants who hurled an explosive device.”
The West Bank is an area where Palestinians seek to establish statehood and has experienced persistent violence since U.S.-backed negotiations with Israel collapsed in 2014.
