TOKYO – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe announced on Monday that the government plans to prepare an additional budget and present it during an extraordinary parliamentary session scheduled for autumn.

Last week, Abe’s cabinet approved a fiscal package amounting to 13.5 trillion yen (approximately $132 billion) aimed at revitalizing the struggling economy.

The government’s initiative entails 7.5 trillion yen in spending from both national and local governments, with a portion of this expected to be covered by the upcoming extra budget for the current fiscal year.
