John McAfee Claims Ghost Was ‘Copy-Pasted’ From PIVX, Threatens Lawsuits
Eccentric cryptocurrency advocate John McAfee has acknowledged that his anonymity-focused project, Ghost, had portions of its whitepaper copied from the open-source privacy coin PIVX documentation, as he stated in a series of tweets today. Despite this admission, McAfee seems poised to pursue legal action against PIVX for defamation.
Earlier this week, developers from PIVX alleged that the Ghost whitepaper was plagiarized from an outdated version published in 2018. They asserted that “at least 20 of the 26 total pages” of the Ghost whitepaper contained material that was directly lifted from the 2018 PIVX whitepaper.
