Kremlin Denies Report of Putin Reaching Out to US and Potentially Dropping Key Demands on Ukraine, According to Reuters

MOSCOW – The Kremlin denied a report suggesting that President Vladimir Putin was exploring the possibility of talks with the United States to end the conflict in Ukraine and might reconsider key demands regarding Ukraine’s security status.

The report indicated that Putin was gauging whether Washington was open to discussions and had reportedly communicated through indirect channels. It mentioned sources close to the Kremlin suggesting that Putin might be willing to soften his stance on Ukraine’s neutral status and even reconsider opposition to Ukraine’s potential NATO membership, a central justification for the Russian invasion.

When questioned by reporters about these claims, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov firmly stated that the report was inaccurate and did not reflect reality.
