Mercedes-Benz USA to Recall Over 27,000 Vehicles Due to Engine Stall Risk, Says NHTSA

Mercedez-Benz USA is recalling over 27,000 vehicles due to potential issues with the engine control unit (ECU) software, which may lead to engine overheating or stalling, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

This recall affects specific Mercedes and Maybach S580 luxury sedans manufactured between 2021 and 2023.

The safety regulator highlighted that an engine stall could heighten the likelihood of a crash, while an overheated engine poses a fire risk.

Authorized dealers will provide a free ECU software update once the owners have been informed.
