
Mexico Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; S&P/BMV IPC Up 0.44%
Investing.com – Mexican stocks closed higher on Monday, buoyed by gains in various sectors.
At market close, the main index in Mexico rose by 0.44%.
The top performers during the session included Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V., which increased by 2.71%, or 1.07 points, finishing at 40.49. GCC SAB de CV saw a rise of 2.25%, or 3.33 points, ending at 151.44, while Gruma SAB de CV rose by 2.15%, or 7.80 points, to close at 370.45.
Conversely, the worst performers included Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple, which dropped 2.31%, or 1.07 points, finishing at 45.18. Arca Continental, S.A.B. De C.V. declined by 1.43%, or 2.70 points, to close at 186.53, while Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV fell 1.31%, or 0.59 points, to end at 44.52.
In terms of overall market performance, advancing stocks outnumbered those in decline on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 119 to 111, with 13 remaining unchanged.
In commodity markets, gold futures for December delivery experienced an increase of 0.26%, or 7.00, reaching $2,653.20 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, crude oil for November delivery declined by 0.38%, or 0.27, settling at $70.73 per barrel, and the December Brent oil contract fell by 0.12%, or 0.09, trading at $73.47 per barrel.
The exchange rates noted a slight rise, with USD/MXN up by 0.09% to 19.43 and EUR/MXN gaining 0.07% to 21.60.
Finally, the US Dollar Index futures rose by 0.23%, reaching 100.65.
