Michael Saylor Intrigues Community With Simpsons Bullish Bitcoin Tweet
Michael Saylor, the vocal advocate and co-founder of MicroStrategy, has recently shared an optimistic statement about Bitcoin on his X account. His post included an amusing image of Homer Simpson, playfully depicted as being “bullish on Bitcoin.”
As Saylor tweeted, Bitcoin is currently trading around $64,200, having experienced a decline of 3.53% from a previous high of $65,800. Prior to this brief drop, the leading cryptocurrency saw an impressive surge of nearly 16%, rising from $56,880 to approximately $65,910 between July 12 and July 17.
### Mt. Gox Creditors’ Bitcoin Plans
In related news, Chinese blockchain journalist Colin Wu reported on a Reddit poll where holders who have received Bitcoin compensation from the now-defunct Mt. Gox exchange shared their intentions regarding their recovered BTC. Out of more than 460 respondents, 260 indicated they do not plan to sell any of their Bitcoin. Meanwhile, 68 participants intend to sell between 1% to 25% of their holdings, and 88 investors are prepared to sell all of their recovered BTC.
Samson Mow, a Bitcoin maximalist and CEO of Jan3, estimates that only around 20% of the $6 billion worth of Bitcoin returned by Mt. Gox will enter the market, suggesting that the majority will be kept in cold storage for long-term holding.
