Michael Saylor Issues ‘Bitcoin to the Moon’ Tweet as BTC Stays Close to $65,000

Michael Saylor, a prominent advocate for Bitcoin and cofounder of the business intelligence firm MicroStrategy, has made a bullish statement about the cryptocurrency on the social media platform X. His comments come as Bitcoin seeks to break past the $65,000 price level, which it recently regained but then lost again.

### Saylor’s “Bitcoin Moon” Message

Saylor addressed his 3.5 million followers on X with a post featuring an image of a space suit adorned with a Bitcoin logo on the helmet. His tweet boldly proclaimed, “#Bitcoin to the Moon.” As a long-time supporter and investor in Bitcoin, Saylor has consistently promoted the asset. Since August 2020, MicroStrategy has been actively acquiring Bitcoin, and the company currently holds a impressive 226,331 BTC, valued at approximately $7.5 billion.

This year, in both March and June, MicroStrategy sought to acquire more Bitcoin by offering convertible senior notes to investors. Initially aiming to raise $500 million, they later increased this target to $700 million.

Recently, Saylor shared a video from Fox Business discussing Bitcoin, labeling it “the number 1 performing asset.”

### Bitcoin’s Recovery Efforts

Bitcoin is currently striving to reclaim the $66,000 level, a mark it exceeded briefly earlier in the day. After a 5.11% increase over 24 hours, the price saw a subsequent decline of 1.54%, settling down to around $64,900.

This price level hasn’t been seen since late June. In the intervening weeks, significant selling pressure and large movements of Bitcoin have contributed to its decline. Notably, the German government has sold approximately 50,000 BTC, equivalent to around $3.24 billion.

Additionally, the Mt. Gox exchange has begun the process of returning Bitcoin to its creditors, who have been awaiting compensation since 2014 due to a major hack. This involved moving billions of dollars’ worth of Bitcoin to new wallets and subsequently to crypto exchanges.
