The involvement of major companies like Meta and Apple has further legitimized the concept, although both tech giants have taken distinct approaches to the metaverse.

Meta has redirected its entire focus to virtual reality (VR), recently launching new smart glasses in collaboration with Ray-Ban. In contrast, Apple has adopted a spatial computing strategy centered on augmented reality (AR) and introduced its own AR glasses earlier in 2023.
