National Vision Announces Leadership Changes and Q2 Earnings Beat

DULUTH, Ga. – National Vision Holdings, Inc. has announced significant leadership changes alongside second quarter earnings that exceeded analyst expectations.

The company has appointed Alex Wilkes as President, effective August 19, 2024. Wilkes previously served as President of the Americas at CooperVision. Additionally, National Vision revealed that Chief Operating Officer Patrick Moore plans to retire at the end of 2024.

For the second quarter, National Vision reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.15, surpassing the analyst estimate of $0.09 by $0.06. Revenue was reported at $451.7 million, slightly exceeding the consensus estimate of $451.35 million and demonstrating an increase from the same quarter last year.

CEO Reade Fahs expressed excitement about Wilkes joining the team, emphasizing his extensive experience in the optical industry and his successful track record in driving sales and profit growth.

Regarding Moore’s retirement, Fahs acknowledged his significant contributions to various business transformation efforts, particularly since the company’s IPO in 2017. He praised Moore for implementing operational rigor that will support the execution of the company’s strategic initiatives moving forward.

National Vision operates over 1,200 stores across 38 states and Puerto Rico, under well-known brands such as America’s Best and Eyeglass World.
