
Netherlands Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; AEX Up 0.62%
Netherlands stocks experienced gains following the close on Thursday, led by increases in various sectors. At the end of trading in Amsterdam, the market index rose by 0.62%.
The top performers of the day included Prosus, which achieved a notable increase of 7.89%, or 2.85 points, closing at 38.90. Randstad NV followed closely, rising by 5.01% or 2.07 points to settle at 43.40, while ArcelorMittal SA saw an uptick of 4.73%, or 1.05 points, ending at 23.26.
Conversely, the worst performers were led by Shell PLC, which declined by 4.28% or 1.31 points to finish at 29.32. Wolters Kluwer experienced a drop of 1.11% or 1.75 points, closing at 155.35, and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV fell by 1.03% or 0.32 points, to conclude at 30.85.
On the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, advancing stocks outnumbered those that declined, with 72 shares rising against 24 that fell, while 12 remained unchanged. Notably, shares of Prosus reached their highest level in three years.
The index measuring the implied volatility of AEX options remained steady at 21.09.
In commodity trading, crude oil for November delivery fell by 2.27% to $68.11 a barrel. Brent oil for December delivery decreased by 2.00% to $71.44 a barrel, while futures for December gold rose by 0.20% to $2,690.15 per troy ounce.
In foreign exchange, the EUR/USD pair remained unchanged at 1.12, and the EUR/GBP pair also held steady at 0.83. Meanwhile, the US Dollar Index Futures decreased by 0.32%, settling at 100.31.
