North Korea Unveils Advanced Rocket Launcher Controller
North Korea has announced the successful development of a new ballistic control system for a multiple rocket launcher, accompanied by controllable shells, according to state media reports.
The Academy of Defence Science, responsible for missile development in the country, conducted a test firing of 240-mm calibre controllable multiple rocket launcher shells. The test took place on Sunday, and the state media highlighted the importance of this advancement.
The report indicated that the strategic significance of the 240 mm-caliber multiple rocket launcher will be reassessed, and its effectiveness on battlefields is expected to grow due to rapid technical improvements.
Officials claimed that the creation of the new shell and ballistic control system would result in a fundamental enhancement to the military’s multiple rocket launcher capabilities.
This latest development comes amidst a series of missile tests conducted by North Korea in recent weeks and increasing collaboration between Pyongyang and Moscow, both of which have drawn criticism from the United States and its allies for contributing to heightened tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea has accused the U.S. and South Korea of exacerbating the situation with their extensive military exercises.
