
Norway Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Oslo OBX Up 0.09%
Norway’s stock market closed higher on Tuesday, driven by gains in various sectors.
At the close in Oslo, the main index rose by 0.09%.
The top performers of the session included Norsk Hydro ASA, which climbed 5.30%, adding 3.30 points to close at 65.58. Golden Ocean Group Ltd followed with an increase of 4.78%, or 6.15 points, finishing at 134.80. Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA also saw a rise of 2.66%, increasing by 0.32 points to reach 12.15.
On the downside, TGS NOPEC Geophysical Company ASA was the biggest loser, falling by 2.77%, or 2.90 points, to settle at 101.90. SalMar ASA decreased by 2.33%, losing 12.50 points to close at 524.00, while Kongsberg Gruppen ASA dropped 2.10%, down 22.00 points to 1,028.00.
Overall, advancing stocks outnumbered those that declined on the Oslo Stock Exchange, with 137 stocks rising compared to 133 that fell, while 36 remained unchanged.
In commodities, crude oil for November delivery increased by 1.88%, or 1.32, to $71.69 a barrel. Brent oil for December delivery followed suit, rising 1.76%, or 1.29, to reach $74.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, December Gold Futures saw a gain of 0.61%, or 16.10, trading at $2,668.60 a troy ounce.
In currency markets, the EUR/NOK exchange rate declined by 0.22% to 11.63, while USD/NOK fell by 0.44% to 10.43. The US Dollar Index Futures were also down by 0.25%, settling at 100.31.
