Norway Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; Oslo OBX Up 0.96%

Norway Stock Market Update

Stocks in Norway experienced gains on Friday, with notable increases in various sectors leading to a positive close. The Oslo Stock Exchange reported a rise of 0.96% by the end of the trading day.

Among the top performers, Aker BP ASA saw a notable increase of 3.22%, adding 7.00 points to reach a closing price of 224.50. Var Energi ASA followed closely with a rise of 2.82%, gaining 0.89 points to end at 32.50. Equinor ASA also made strides, climbing 2.69% or 6.90 points to a closing price of 263.00.

Conversely, the session’s worst performers included Nel ASA, which fell 2.58%, decreasing by 0.13 points to close at 4.72. Hafnia Ltd experienced a decline of 2.20%, down 1.70 points to finish at 75.40, while Tomra Systems ASA dropped 2.07%, with a reduction of 3.30 points, closing at 156.20.

Overall, the Oslo Stock Exchange saw 175 stocks gain ground against 103 that declined, while 27 remained unchanged.

In commodity markets, crude oil for November delivery increased by 0.44%, reaching $67.97 per barrel. Brent oil for December delivery also saw a slight rise of 0.27%, trading at $71.28 per barrel. However, the December Gold Futures contract fell by 0.87%, trading at $2,671.40 per troy ounce.

On the currency front, the euro decreased by 0.39% against the Norwegian krone to 11.72, and the US dollar fell by 0.35% to 10.49. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16%, closing at 100.08.
