Bitcoin Miner Marathon Mints Invalid Block in Botched ‘Experiment’

Marathon Digital, a mining firm, has announced that it mined an invalid Bitcoin (BTC) block as part of an “experiment” designed to enhance its operational efficiency.

In a statement made on September 27, Marathon explained that only a small portion of the company’s hashrate is dedicated to these experiments, emphasizing that their goal was not to interfere with the network in any manner.
