Paysafe Suspends EUR Deposits for Binance, Affecting Trading Activities
Paysafe Payment Solutions Limited has ceased processing Euro (EUR) deposits for users of the cryptocurrency exchange platform, Binance. This change, implemented on Thursday, has prompted Binance to recommend that users convert their EUR balances to USD (USDT) by October 31, 2023. Although deposit services have been halted, users are still able to withdraw their EUR balances to banks.
Paysafe’s decision has disrupted various trading activities on the Binance platform, affecting all EUR-related operations, including EUR spot trading pairs, Spot Trading Bots services, EUR/BUSD trading pairs, and Auto-Invest EUR plans.
This development has sparked discussions within the crypto community. Adam Cochran, a known critic of Binance, took to social media to question the rationale behind Paysafe’s decision, highlighting that the company continues to provide services to various high-risk businesses, including those in the cryptocurrency sector. Other commentators suggested that the impact might be minimal for Binance users who do not utilize EUR.
The full implications of this change for Binance’s operations and its users will become clearer as the deadline of October 31 approaches.
