Poland Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; WIG30 Up 0.62%
Poland’s stock market closed higher on Friday, driven by gains in various sectors.
At the end of trading in Warsaw, the stock index rose by 0.62%.
Leading the session’s gains was Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA, which increased by 5.22%, or 1.25 points, finishing at 25.20. Grupa Azoty SA followed, adding 4.62% or 0.90 points to close at 20.40, while Text SA climbed 3.91%, or 2.80 points, reaching 74.50 by the end of the day.
On the downside, CCC SA experienced a decline of 1.82%, or 3.20 points, to settle at 173.00. Alior Bank SA dropped by 1.19%, or 1.16 points, closing at 96.42, and Benefit Systems SA fell by 1.13%, or 30.00 points, finishing at 2,635.00.
Overall, advancing stocks outnumbered those that declined on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, with 260 rising against 237 falling, while 111 remained unchanged.
In commodity markets, crude oil for November delivery decreased by 0.04%, or 0.03, to $67.64 per barrel. Brent oil for December delivery slipped by 0.06%, or 0.04, to $71.05 per barrel. Additionally, December gold futures fell by 0.88%, or 23.75, to trade at $2,671.15 an ounce.
In currency markets, the EUR/PLN remained stable at 4.27, while USD/PLN rose by 0.13% to 3.83. The US Dollar Index Futures decreased by 0.05%, settling at 100.20.
