
Poland Stocks Higher at Close of Trade; WIG30 Up 2.02%
Poland’s stock market saw an uptick on Tuesday, driven by strong performances across various sectors.
At the close in Warsaw, the main index increased by 2.02%.
Leading the day’s gains was Enea SA, which surged by 5.34%, contributing 0.57 points to reach 11.25. PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA followed, climbing 4.99% or 0.35 points to finish at 7.40. KGHM Polska Miedz SA also made significant strides, rising 4.87% or 7.30 points to close at 157.15.
On the downside, the worst performers included CCC SA, which saw a decline of 2.25% or 3.50 points, resulting in a closing price of 152.10. Asseco Poland SA fell by 0.75% or 0.65 points to finish at 86.45, while Text SA dipped 0.70% or 0.50 points to close at 71.30.
Overall, gainers outnumbered decliners on the Warsaw Stock Exchange with 260 stocks advancing, compared to 253 that fell, while 98 remained unchanged.
In the commodities market, crude oil for November delivery rose by 1.21% or 0.85 to $71.22 per barrel. Brent oil for December delivery increased by 1.19% or 0.87 to reach $74.08 per barrel. Additionally, the December Gold Futures contract saw a rise of 0.60% or 15.80, trading at $2,668.30 per troy ounce.
In currency exchange, the EUR/PLN decreased by 0.18% to 4.26, and the USD/PLN fell by 0.55% to 3.82. The US Dollar Index Futures also dropped by 0.23%, settling at 100.33.
