Researchers Claim 99.9% of Zcash Transactions Are Traceable
Researchers from Carnegie Mellon University have published a study examining the privacy features of Monero (XMR) and Zcash (ZEC), two of the most recognized cryptocurrencies that claim to provide user anonymity.
The findings reveal that Monero’s implementation of stringent security and anonymity protocols within its ecosystem has preserved its reputation as “effectively untraceable.”
A significant observation from the report is that a vast majority of Zcash transactions can be traced, with estimates suggesting that up to 99.9% are not private.
