KYIV (Reuters) – A missile strike by Russian forces on the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih targeted a five-storey building that housed the regional police department on Friday. This attack resulted in the deaths of at least three individuals and left six others injured, according to official reports.
The regional governor, Serhiy Lysak, shared on the Telegram messaging app that the bodies of a man and two women were recovered from beneath the debris.
Ukraine’s emergency services reported that search operations were ongoing, as there were concerns that more people might be trapped under the rubble.
Lysak further stated that the missile attack also resulted in damage to 23 private homes, three apartment buildings, and an educational institution.
Emergency services confirmed that the building housing the Dnipropetrovsk region’s police directorate suffered significant structural damage due to the strike.
