
Netherlands Stocks Decline at Close of Trade; AEX Dips 1.20%
Investing in the Netherlands experienced a downturn on Friday, primarily influenced by declines in several sectors.
At the market’s close in Amsterdam, the key index fell by 1.20%.
Among the session’s top performers were ABN AMRO Group NV, which saw a rise of 0.83%, equating to an increase of 0.14 points, bringing its trading value to 16.39. Koninklijke KPN NV also performed well, gaining 0.53%, or 0.02 points, to end at 3.63. Additionally, DSM Firmenich AG increased by 0.39%, or 0.45 points, closing the day at 116.45.
Conversely, the biggest declines were noted for ASM International NV, which dropped by 4.97%, translating to a loss of 29.40 points, settling at 561.80. BE Semiconductor Industries NV experienced a decline of 4.57%, or 5.35 points, to end at 111.60, while ASML Holding NV fell 4.17%, down 31.20 points, closing at 716.70.
On the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, declining shares outnumbered those that advanced, with 78 stocks falling compared to 20 gaining, while 7 stocks remained unchanged.
The implied volatility index, measuring AEX options, remained stable at 21.09.
In commodities, crude oil for November delivery decreased by 0.22%, or 0.16, to $71.00 per barrel. Brent oil for November delivery also fell, down 0.51%, or 0.38, to $74.50 per barrel. However, December gold futures saw an increase of 1.20%, rising by 31.50 to trade at $2,646.10 per troy ounce.
In currency markets, the EUR/USD pair saw minimal change of 0.03%, reaching 1.12, while the EUR/GBP ratio increased slightly by 0.15%, settling at 0.84. The US Dollar Index futures rose by 0.13%, reaching 100.45.
