Satoshi-Era Dormant Whale Makes Significant BTC Move

A significant Bitcoin holder, known as a whale, possessing over $72.5 million in Bitcoin mined in 2009, has recently transferred a total of $3.58 million worth of BTC to the Kraken exchange, as reported by Arkham Intelligence.

This particular Bitcoin was mined just one month after the cryptocurrency’s initial launch in March 2009. Previously, on September 24, the whale moved 5 BTC to Kraken. Currently, their wallet maintains approximately 2,049.95 BTC, valued at around $72.5 million.

On Friday, Bitcoin experienced a 3% increase, surpassing $62,000, spurred by a stronger-than-expected labor market report in the U.S. The economy added 254,000 jobs in September, significantly exceeding the anticipated 140,000, which fueled optimism and contributed to the rise in Bitcoin’s value.

Earlier in the week, however, Bitcoin had seen a 6% decline, dropping to approximately $60,000. In the lead-up to the positive jobs data, the cryptocurrency gradually regained some ground. Following a slight dip post-report, Bitcoin surged over 1%, and other cryptocurrencies followed suit with similar gains.
