Shardeum Unveils Stage 3 of Incentivized Testnet to Enhance Security and Functionality Ahead of Mainnet, According to Chainwire

Shardeum is advancing its roadmap towards the Mainnet launch with the initiation of Stage 3 of its Incentivized Testnet (ITN), named Atomium, starting October 1st, 2024. This latest stage aims to enhance community engagement, encouraging users to identify bugs, vulnerabilities, and performance issues within the network as part of the final preparations for the Mainnet launch.

This announcement follows the successful conclusion of the first two ITN stages, which saw participation from over 540,000 users, including more than 11,000 validators, and facilitated over 5 million transactions. Stage 3 will also run alongside Shardeum’s second bug bounty program, focusing on rigorous testing to uncover any remaining bugs and vulnerabilities.

Stage 3 is anticipated to last between 3 to 4 weeks, extending longer than the previous stages due to the increasing maturity of the Testnet. The involvement of the community has been instrumental in helping Shardeum refine and stabilize the network.

The Stage 3 quest campaign will provide users with opportunities to rigorously stress test a wider variety of on-chain activities and validator functions. Participants may earn rewards such as SHM airdrops, experience points, NFTs, and more.

Stage 3 will feature referral programs, social tasks, rewards challenges, as well as voting and quiz games designed to ensure high levels of community engagement. It is important to note that rewards can only be claimed through the quest tasks outlined in the official campaign.
