Skydivers’ Plane Strikes Man on Mexican Beach During Emergency Landing, Reports Reuters

A plane with four Canadian skydivers made an emergency landing on a beach in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca on Sunday, according to the state civil defense office. Tragically, the incident resulted in the death of a 62-year-old man who was on the beach at the time.

The aircraft was forced to land on a crowded section of Bacocho beach in Puerto Escondido, a popular Pacific resort town. The civil defense office reported that the man’s wife, who was present on the beach, was unharmed.

Footage from local sources showed the damaged plane on the beach after it collided with a turtle rescue center.

The civil defense did not provide further details on the emergency landing or the identities of those involved, stating that an investigation is underway. Fortunately, no other beachgoers were reported injured.

The individuals on the airplane, which included the four Canadian skydivers aged between 35 and 60 and a 40-year-old Mexican man, were extricated from the aircraft and taken for medical evaluation, with their conditions reported as stable.

Governor Salomon Jara announced that resources were being allocated to assist those who were injured in the incident. He expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, offering support in their time of loss.
