
Sodexo Contemplates Acquiring Aramark as Shares Rise – Bloomberg
France’s Sodexo SA is reportedly considering a takeover of U.S. food catering competitor Aramark, according to Bloomberg. This news has led to a significant increase in Aramark’s shares, which rose over 12% to reach $41.77, marking a three-year high.
Sodexo has been in discussions about the potential acquisition intermittently in recent months, though the specifics regarding the proposed takeover’s value remain unclear.
Aramark has a market capitalization of approximately $9.83 billion. Recently, Sodexo catered for the 2024 Olympics in Paris and is looking to further expand into international markets.
Earlier reports indicated that French workplace supplies provider Elis Services SA had approached Vestis Corp, the former uniform rental business of Aramark, with an acquisition proposal.
