Spotify Resumes Service After Brief Outage Affecting Thousands of Users
Audio streaming platform Spotify experienced a significant outage on Sunday, lasting approximately three hours and impacting over 40,000 users in the United States at its peak, as reported by Downdetector.
The outage tracking service indicated that by 3 p.m. ET (1900 GMT), fewer than 600 users were still facing difficulties. In a social media update, Spotify reassured users, stating, "Everything’s looking much better now!"
The company has not yet provided information regarding the cause of the outage.
During the disruption, users reported being unable to stream anything except recently played songs, with playlists failing to load and music playback randomly stopping.
In the latest quarterly report, Spotify noted an increase in paying subscribers, rising to 246 million.
