Stellantis Has No Plans to Sell Maserati Following CEO’s Warning, Reports Reuters
Stellantis has made it clear that it has no plans to sell its luxury vehicle division, Maserati, or to merge it with any other Italian luxury brands. The automaker reaffirmed its commitment to Maserati as a distinctive luxury brand within its portfolio of 14 brands.
Carlos Tavares, the CEO of Stellantis, recently issued a warning about the company’s underperforming brands, stating that they would be shut down if they fail to turn a profit. This statement came on the heels of disappointing results for the first half of the year.
While Stellantis does not disclose financial results for individual brands, it reported that Maserati incurred an adjusted operating loss of 82 million euros in the first half of the year. Some market analysts had speculated that Maserati could be a potential target for sale, while other brands, like Lancia and DS, might face the threat of discontinuation due to their limited contributions to overall sales.
