Trump: “I Won’t Run Again If I Lose in November, That Will Be It” – Reuters

Trump Indicates 2024 Election Could Be His Last Run for Presidency

In a recent interview, former Republican President Donald Trump stated that he would not pursue a fourth consecutive bid for the U.S. presidency if he loses the upcoming election on November 5. When asked about his plans for future campaigns, the 78-year-old Trump asserted, "No I don’t. I think that will be — that will be it. I don’t see that at all. Hopefully, we will be successful."

Trump is currently in a competitive race against Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris, with polls indicating a close contest in crucial swing states that are likely to determine the election outcome. Although Harris has started to gain an edge in some nationwide polls, the two candidates remain neck-and-neck in various battlegrounds.

Trump initially began his campaign for the 2020 election on the day of his inauguration in 2017 and declared his latest candidacy for the presidency in November 2022. He has repeatedly accused the Democratic President Joe Biden of gaining his 2020 victory through extensive voter fraud, a claim that has been widely discredited. Additionally, Trump is facing federal and state criminal charges linked to his attempts to overturn the 2020 election results, but he firmly denies any wrongdoing, portraying the charges as politically motivated attacks against him.

Amidst his campaign, Trump has engaged in various business ventures, including Trump Media and products such as NFTs, sneakers, coins, and cryptocurrencies.

Harris, 59, sees this election as a pivotal moment for U.S. democracy. Her campaign focuses on important domestic issues, emphasizing the financial challenges families face, including housing costs.

In discussing the impact of the past four-year break from office, Trump remarked, "It would have been easier if I did it … contiguous," but acknowledged that the time away has revealed the shortcomings of his former allies.

During the interview conducted at his Florida resort, Trump also noted it was "too early" to negotiate potential cabinet positions for a future administration should he win the election.
