Turkey Stocks Close Lower; BIST 100 Falls 0.53%
Turkey’s stock market closed lower on Friday, with declines in various sectors impacting overall performance.
At the end of trading in Istanbul, the index decreased by 0.53%.
Among the top gainers of the session was Agrotech Yuksek Teknoloji ve Yatirim AS, which saw a rise of 5.02%, adding 0.72 points to finish at 15.06. Kontrolmatik Teknoloji Enerji ve Mu also performed well, increasing by 4.62% or 1.94 points to close at 43.90. Additionally, Konya Cimento Sanayi AS rose by 4.39%, gaining 285.00 points to reach 6,775.00 during late trading.
Conversely, BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS was the worst performer, dropping 7.52% or 40.50 points to close at 498.00. Tekfen Holding AS declined by 4.61% or 2.65 points, ending at 54.85, while Turkiye Vakiflar Bankasi TAO decreased by 3.54% or 0.82 points to 22.34.
On the Istanbul Stock Exchange, advancing stocks outnumbered declining ones, with 335 gaining and 224 losing ground; 18 remained unchanged.
In commodities, Gold Futures for delivery in December fell by 0.76% or 20.40, settling at $2,674.50 per troy ounce. Crude oil for November delivery experienced a slight increase of 0.15% or 0.10, reaching $67.77 per barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose by 0.07% or 0.05, trading at $71.14 per barrel.
In currency exchange, USD/TRY edged up by 0.06% to 34.16, whereas EUR/TRY dipped by 0.08% to 38.14. The US Dollar Index Futures was also down by 0.08%, landing at 100.17.
