Turkey Stocks Decline at Market Close; BIST 100 Falls 0.76%

Turkey’s stock market experienced a decline after Friday’s trading session, with significant losses in various sectors contributing to the downturn.

At the close of trading in Istanbul, the main index fell by 0.76%.

Among the day’s top performers was Hektas Ticaret TAS, which surged by 9.93%, or 0.41 points, closing at 4.54. Limak Dogu Anadolu Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret AS also posted gains, increasing by 5.06% or 1.18 points to finish at 24.48. Additionally, Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS rose by 4.86%, gaining 1.58 points to close at 34.08.

Conversely, BIM Birlesik Magazalar AS faced the steepest decline, dropping 6.48% or 39.50 points to finish at 570.00. 1000 Yatirimlar Holding AS decreased by 5.81%, losing 23.75 points and ending at 385.00, while Migros Ticaret AS fell by 3.21%, down 16.50 points to settle at 497.00.

In terms of market breadth, declining stocks outnumbered advances on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, with 318 stocks falling compared to 231 that rose, while 30 remained unchanged.

In the commodities market, December gold futures rose by 0.99%, or 25.90, to reach $2,640.50 per troy ounce. In contrast, November crude oil futures decreased by 0.46%, or 0.33, to $70.83 per barrel, and November Brent oil saw a decline of 0.61%, or 0.46, closing at $74.42 per barrel.

On the currency front, the USD/TRY exchange rate increased by 0.27% to 34.12, while EUR/TRY rose by 0.08% to 38.01. The US Dollar Index Futures gained 0.33%, reaching 100.66.
