Colombia Stocks Rise at Close of Trade; COLCAP Up 0.10%

Colombia’s stock market was up on Monday, driven by gains in various sectors. The index closed with a modest increase of 0.10%.

The highlight for the day was Grupo de Inversiones Suramericana SA, which saw a significant rise of 7.42%, adding 1,900 points to reach a trading value of 27,500. Celsia SA increased by 3.51%, or 135 points, closing at 3,980, while Mineros SA gained 3.00%, or 105 points, finishing the session at 3,600.

On the downside, Cementos Argos SA experienced the largest decline, falling 4.46% or 350 points, to trade at 7,500. Grupo Bolivar SA decreased by 3.31%, or 2,160 points, closing at 63,000, and Corporacion Financiera Colombiana SA saw a drop of 1.67%, or 200 points, to settle at 11,800.

Overall, declining stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombia Stock Exchange.

Mineros SA reached a 52-week high during the session.

In commodities, US coffee for December delivery rose 5.00%, or 12.55 points, to $263.30. US cocoa for the same month also saw an increase of 1.55%, or 119 points, hitting $7,777. Meanwhile, December Gold Futures lifted by 0.26%, or 7 points, to trade at $2,653.20 per troy ounce.

In foreign exchange, the USD/COP exchange rate dipped by 0.01% to 4,162.13, and BRL/COP decreased by 0.37% to 751.07. The US Dollar Index Futures was up by 0.23%, reaching 100.65.
